Strategies For Pay Per Click Marketing

Pay Per Click Advertising

Top position means best placement... Right.... Wrong! Looks and first impressions can be deceiving, especially in Pay Per Click Advertising. Now the interesting thing is a lot of people don't click on the top ad, they actually click in the middle or even down the bottom of the list.
This is excellent news, you can now save a heap of cash by lowering your bid price.
You see there is more often than not a large difference between the bid bid prices for the top positioned advert, and a lower ranking ad in Adwords.
This is a good cash saving technique; Let your competitors fork out top dollar to rank number

1 to 3. By practicing this method you will not only save cash on your PPC costs, but you could possibly end up getting more traffic by being further down the list of search results.
A good feature of Google's keyword tool is the cost per click option in the search results. Simply choose for the cost per click column to be displayed and you will see a small box above the search results where you can input a (hypothetical) maximum bid price. All of the keywords in the search result will then show you what position your maximum bid will buy you. You now have an idea of what bid price you will have to pay to be in a particular position. Simple stuff that can save you some dollars in the beginning stages of a campaign.
I recommend you study your opposition to help you improve your chances of success. If your an affiliate marketer using PPC, then there is a high chance that another affiliate will be pushing the same product. Have a look at their ads, and their landing pages, also if you notice the same ad being displayed over a long period of time then chances are they have a successful campaign. So pay attention, look, learn and replicate.

Use PPC tools to reseach your competition
Don't waste time by researching your competition and niche manually. You can, but you should be using one of the many PPC tools that are available to save you time and money. One of the latest and greatest PPC spy tools is Google Cash Detective 2, this one tool has been responsible for helping me recognize and set up profitable campaigns right off the bat. I can't start a new Pay Per Clicks campaign without it.
If you use a tool like Google Cash Detective 2, it easy to take note of the following: Do they send people to a pre-sell page or directly to the program they are advertising?
At a glance you can recognize the pro's from the amateurs. A lot of super affiliates use a powerful squeeze page to build their lists. They are paying good money for traffic, so you obviously need to increase your chances of profitability buy building your list whilst advertising a product.
The theory is it can take up to 7 times of contact before a person will make a purchase. So the chances of a person landing on your site for the first time and buying something is low, but if you can get their name and email address you then have the opportunity to continue to market to them.
It's up to you if you choose to try and capture leads with your PPC campaigns. The benefits of continued marketing is in my opinion well worth the small amount of effort it takes to set up a squeeze page. Capturing contact details gives you two bites of the cherry, and that little bit of effort can be the difference between being a successful or a failing affiliate marketer.
